We're taking it slow and doing one or 2 questions a night while daddy and the little pipsqueak entertain themselves elsewhere, and continuing our regular lessons during the day. We sit down at the computer and I ask the question and then type out his answer. It amazes me with how much detail he can recall a random story we read 12 weeks ago!
When Mason says a child is not able to retell that which he does not know for himself, she is not kidding! The steady stopping every few paragraphs to narrate each story we have read each day up until this point has paid off.
I love seeing my son's little personality shine through in the answers he gives. While we may not do the typical paper and pencil- end of chapter tests during our days, this document, when I'm finished typing it, will be a beautiful keepsake and a wonderful benchmark for the progress and learning that is happening this year in our homeschool.
